World famous Italian crossover tenor
Crossover tenor from Italy Alessandro Safina has been named by CNN as one of the three greatest world tenors of pop opera. Although Alessandro is entirely wrapped up in his love for classical music and especially fond of the legendary tenor Enrico Caruso, he is equally inspired by U2, Genesis, Depeche Mode, The Clash. Alessandro tries to combine the two musical genres – classical and pop – thus bringing classical music closer to larger audiences and creating his soulful new pop opera music.
Alessandro has duetted with Elton John, Sarah Brightman, Rod Stewart, Jose Carreras, Barbara Hendricks, Sumi Jo, Mario Frangoulis, Andrea Bocelli – just a few names to mention. He performed in UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Taiwan, South Korea, Mexico, North and South America, UAE, Lebanon, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania, Latvia, Poland.
Alessandro has received different nominations and awards, like Mario Lanza award as a worldwide ambassador of Italian “Musica Lyrica”, silver medal from the International Association of Operetta, “Murex D’Or” award for “The Best International Artist”, the award for “Popularizer Of Classical Music”; BIAF award (Beirut International Awards Festival) for his contribution into the heritage of world music.
