AMALIA RODRIGUES SYMPHONIC – is a homage to the Queen of Fado in symphonic version.
Amália, known as “Rainha do Fado” (“Queen of Fado”), was the most influential in popularising fado worldwide. In 2011, thanks to the work done by Amália over more than 50 years of her career, fado has been included in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.
Amália has toured all over the world in Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, UK, Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, and performed in the most iconic venues like two consecutive seasons at Olympia in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, Lincoln Arts Center New York, 4 months at La Vie en Rose in New York, Casino Copacabana in Brazil, legendary nightclub Mocambo in Hollywood, just to name a few.
The brand new production AMALIA RODRIGUES SYMPHONIC is a homage to the Fado Diva in a symphonic version, created by Rossio Music together with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation. The show presents Amalia’s best songs with live symphonic arrangements, audiovisual and lights projections, mixing her voice selected from the best discography and TV performances with a live performance by the amazing Portuguese singer Anabela and enriched with footages from Amália’s life.
