The story of the legend
Produced in 2016, Formidable! Aznavour is a reverence to the iconic artist Charles Aznavour. The show takes us back to the streets of Paris in the era of ‘Bohemia’ to give us an insight into the incredible career of Charles Aznavour through his greatest songs which are known throughout the world and form an integral part of the world’s musical heritage. With projected images and videos at the back of the stage and original production and decoration, this show is the greatest ever tribute to Charles Aznavour’s career.
The producer of the show Gil Marsalla has craved for a long time to create a show in honor of Charles Aznavour. However, this would have been impossible without the blessing of the artist. For this reason, Gil Marsalla and Jules Grison who now stars in the show, traveled to New York to meet Charles Aznavour after his show at Madison Square Gardens on the 15th of October 2016, and to discuss the possibility of realizing this project. Graciously acknowledging their reputation internationally, and wishing to reach younger generations of music fans, Charles Aznavour gave his permission to go ahead with the project. From that day on, the creative team have worked tirelessly to produce a show worthy of the man himself and the icon he represents. And they have succeeded! As one of the medias wrote, Formidable!
